Lisa established Odissi Lasya to promote and preserve the Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra lineage through a strict adherence to the technique, and well rounded learning to include music, theory, and history.

Our learning approach:

​

• Establishes a strong dance technique  through rigorous and continuous training.    

• Fosters a connection with our dance Guru's and mentors from Srjan through domestic and international workshops   

• Follows the Odissi curriculum so students can pursue examination. Examination is only offered to students that have a solid understanding and ability to execute the material.

• Items and technique taught are based upon the Srjan gharana and will reflect compositions by Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra and Guru Ratikant Mohapatra.  No exceptions.

Class Requirement

• Students are expected to come to class prepared and practice regularly outside of class.    

• Minimum age to start is 7 years of age.
